Text messaging program
Atlas can text household members who ask for it. This page describes the program in full: what you'll receive, how to turn it on and off, and what the messages look like.

What you'll receive
Texts to household members who opt in, including reminders they set, calendar and task notifications, voicemail transcriptions, replies from the Atlas assistant, and personal messages sent and received through the household's number.
Atlas does not send marketing or promotional texts, and never texts anyone who has not opted in or written to the household's number first.
How to opt in
There are two ways to turn on texts. Either one is enough.
In Atlas
In Atlas, open Settings > Text Messaging, enter your mobile number, and check the consent box. The box is unchecked until you check it, it is separate from anything else you agree to, and Atlas works fully without texting. The consent box reads:
I agree to receive text messages from Atlas (Garden Homes Labs LLC), including reminders, notifications and assistant replies. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

By text
Text START to your household's Atlas number.
What happens next
Either way, you receive one confirmation message:
Atlas (Garden Homes Labs): You're signed up for household texts: reminders, notifications and assistant replies. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase, and it is not required to use Atlas.
How to opt out
Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any Atlas text, or turn texts off in Atlas under Settings > Text Messaging. You will receive one confirmation and no further texts:
Atlas (Garden Homes Labs): You've opted out of household texts and will receive no further messages. Reply START to opt back in.
Reply START at any time to resubscribe.
Help
Reply HELP to any Atlas text and you'll receive:

Example messages
Messages are addressed to one household member and reflect what they set up or asked for. For example:
Atlas: Reminder: recycling goes out tonight.
Atlas: Tomorrow 9:00 AM: dentist appointment for Theo. Reply STOP to opt out.
Atlas: New voicemail from (734) 555-0142, 0:41: "Hi, this is the pharmacy, your prescription is ready for pickup any time after noon."
Atlas: The water bill was paid on Oct 3 from the house account. Reply STOP to opt out.
Atlas: Nadine says: Running 15 minutes late, can you start dinner?
Frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with what you set up: a person with several reminders and a busy calendar receives more texts than one with few. Message and data rates may apply; Atlas does not charge for texts, but your carrier's rates apply.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number and your opt-in record are used only to deliver the texts you asked for, through our SMS provider under confidentiality obligations.
